Don't want to piss anyone off (especially the Ripper or Phaota) but I thought the recent "Scarface" soundtrack sounded very hollow and weak--as did about half of the tracks on recent "The Breakfast Club". I'm going to try to extract some of the "Scarface" soundtrack to see how hard it really is to make one of these things from a DVD. I'll let you know what I find out.

hey John,

I'm disappointed to hear that you're upset with Scarface and Breakfast Club. but i'm not pissed off. Tho I can't speak for Phaota. He hasn't signed up for the forum tho. I do know Phaota made those two rips himself. According to what he told me on the phone prior to posting, particularly on Breakfast Club, the cues were originally just too low in volume in the movie originally so he can only do so much to make the quality good. He to amp it way up but not make it too loud so that it wouldn't sound like shit. He did what he could with what he was given on the original movie soundtrack. I know myself what he had to deal with cause I had to deal with similiar problems with making my 5.1 rips of Half Baked and another project of mine that is still in development. If the volume is low in the movie score wise then yes the rip may very well sound "hollow" or "weak" sometimes. but it's better than nothing. you can try your own rip of course but honestly i'm not sure if it will sound significantly better. i'm not trying to diss you john cause i respect you and i consider you a friend. But i really do think what Phaota gave us is pretty much the best of what we're gonna get for Scarface and Breakfast Club.

again sorry to hear you're unhappy with those two releases. :(

Ripper,

I just wanted to make people aware that there was something going on with the audio in those downloads. I totally respect the time and effort that goes into such things -- but I'm afraid of how I will come across logging a complaint about it. So many other downloads from this site sound so great. I was just surprised...!

I'm looking forward to downloading the new "The Fog" file! Thanks for posting it. Keep up the great work! Thanks for everything.

John Brune

hey john,

oh ok. don't be afraid tho. feedback is what i wanna hear about my downloads and what my friends give me to post.

hope you like the new fog. but do read the description cause i noted a few things that i felt needed to be addressed with that rip. still a good rip nonetheless but there was just some things about it that were kinda "off".

thanks pal. keep reading buddy. :)
